Goo goo ga ga....

Don’t worry, I haven’t had too many wines and started with the baby talk, nor am I actually trying to talk at a baby… I’m actually referring to the way the world is literally going goo goo for Gaga – Lady Gaga!

As a creative agency, we are constantly on the look out of inspiration for the next room look, concept, graphic display or entertainment piece, and clearly so is Gaga.

In the past 2 years her video clips have been epic productions of cutting edge creative inspiration (god only knows where she comes up with some of the ideas!?) Not only do they act as visual delights, but often tackle taboo themes that other artists wouldn’t touch with a 10 foot pole – Nazi Germany, Murder, Prison warfare and even depicting the biblical Judas as a biker – yet she hasn’t copped the amount of negative media that you would expect from these topics being thrust into TV screens around the world… the Midas touch perhaps?

Her personal style is… to say the least, inventive… what, with her shoulder pads for days, dresses made from cuts of meat and a few old beer cans thrown in for good measure, its clear that Gaga is non-conformist in all aspects of her life as an entertainer! 

The fact of the matter is Gaga IS entertainment! 

The world is addicted - no matter what she does, she’s talked about, her audience watches on to see what she’s going to do, say or wear next, and that’s what makes the Lady Gaga experience, an unforgettable one!

We recently had The Squared Division’s ‘House of Gaga’ show at the RMHC Ball in Melbourne, and boy, what a site that was! These boys really knew how to recreate Gaga’s best bits into one killer set of show stopper numbers, complete with the costumes to boot!

You can’t go too far these days without seeing or hearing Gaga! Her recent appearance in Sydney caused hysteria with her ‘monsters’ lining the streets and storming her hotel performing whole dance routines in costume… its safe to say Gaga is an icon of all sorts and she is here to stay!

But what can you and I get from Gaga I hear you ask? What can corporate rock and roll pirates like DG take from her videos, her shows and her crazier-than-a-coconut costumes?? Simple. Gaga is proof that nothing is nothing, and anything is everything! The simplest of ideas can be turned into the most epic of productions… things don’t need to make sense in the world of entertainment, they just need to be imaginative and look good doing it!

We’re continually pushed to new levels by the likes of Gaga and rest of the entertainment world. To craft live experiences from the simplest of thoughts that can become far out extravaganzas and to conjure and create our own innovative concepts into the never before seen.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to start pitching Gaga themed gigs to everyone… but you know what they say… ‘Once you kill a cow, you gotta make a burger!!’
