Facebook, Face Off!!!

So I’m not sure how many people have noticed, but the new Facebook sucks! All I want is my old news feed back that told me what my friends were doing, not what it seems to think is ‘important’ or ‘relevant’ to me – Which I’m not even sure how it gauges the importance levels!?

It seems that every month or two, something changes on Facebook, and I get this pop up window to say that I can now ask a question or I can now choose who I hear from (one of the better additions, mind you!) so its clear that Facebook is and always will be an ever changing product. Just when you think you’ve finally worked it all out, it all changes again and you’re back to square one

Facebook is now telling me I can make ‘lists’ (what for, I’m not sure, but lists none the less!) …. Then it started asking me if I wanted to add people to my lists (even though I hadn’t as yet made any lists yet) THEN I realized that it had already made lists for me and consequently inserted people who it thought might be relevant to said lists (so I’m not sure why it asked me make a list in the first place,)

Confused? Same here…. I still don’t even know what these bloody lists are for!!?

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE FACEBOOK!!! Anyone who’s friends with me know that I have numerous updates, posts, check ins and general banter online throughout everyday (apologies to those who are actually one of my FB friends). I love the fact that I can see what my friends overseas are doing, check out photos friends new born babies, ‘like’ products and artists to get regular updates as to what’s going on in their world and generally stay in touch people.

I do however get the feeling that pretty soon it wont be as simple as typing your email address and password into the ‘join here’ section of the home page to create an account, there’ll be fingerprint technology and week long training courses just to give you the basic run down on how to use it!

If you’ve got a different opinion on the new Facebook, or if you can tell me how to make the most of these illusive ‘lists’ then please let me know but until then, Facebook can Face Off with all their bloody changes!

Hey Bibo!!
I understand people's pain, however if it wasn't for the 'new' facebook, I wouldn't have seen your invitation to view this very rant, as it came up in the right hand live feed. I was actually getting frustrated that I never saw certain people's posts and activity in the straight news feed so I think I like the change...
Private people will hate it I am sure, and privacy is most definitely something Mark and his nerdy mates at Facebook will need to get onto - PRONTO!!
