An Angry Obsession

As a girl, I’ve never really been that interested in the video game thing. Sure I had a love affair with Sonic the Hedgehog when I was 11 and flirted with Crash Bandicoot at 15, but essentially the last 15 years of gaming has passed me by quite happily. Don’t get me wrong, it can be fun for about an hour, but the thought of spending days, weeks even months trying to complete a silly game baffled me…………..well that was until I downloaded Angry birds.

If you had told me 2 years ago I would get enjoyment from hurling a grumpy looking bird into green, pig faced thingies, I would have said you were crazy. But its not crazy, this little game has turned into something so satisfying, so frustrating and so much fun.

Originally downloaded as a simple and effective time waster when travelling to a gig or waiting in a queue, I thought I’d play it a few times and then forget about it, like the majority of the apps on my phone. Little did in know it would turn into a not so secret obsession.

Like any good obsession, overdoing it could be detrimental to your health but after much research and investigation (ie hours of playing) I have decided that Angry Birds can be good for you!

Think about it, when you’re frustrated at work or you need some creative inspiration. Play a game of Angry Birds. If you’re waiting in a queue or bored on a long flight, play a game of Angry Birds. Need to get to sleep or just woken up, play a game of Angry Birds. It’s amazing how this little game, normally played in gaps that make up our day, can change your perception on the world and lighten your mood.

‘Tired, Stressed, you’ll feel better on Angry Birds’

In the world of social networking, information technology and less actual human contact, a ‘single player’ game developed for the very devise that has revolutionised the way we communicate, has the power to bring people together too.

How may times have you been playing happily, when a loved one, a colleague or even a total stranger has asked…. “What level are you up to” or “can I have a go”!

The power of this App is incredible. With over 200million downloads to date, Angry Birds has officially taken the App world and my iphone by storm.
